8m Survey Exempt Vessel under construction

Last week our Senior Naval Architect Shaun Ritson, has been out to Stagg Boats to see how work is progressing on the 8m Survey Exempt vessel.

This aluminium vessel is a custom design for a University to use as a marine research vessel. It will be fitted with a 3.0 L Cummins Diesel Engine on completion, and will be able to carry four marine researchers.

Still in the fabrication stage, our scope of design included the preparation of the nested aluminium plates to ensure efficient and accurate construction. The life of the boat began as flat sheets of aluminium in Stagg Boats factory in Kelmscott, where it will remain to all stages up to fit out take place.

Stagg Boats commence construction of 8m Survey Exempt Vessel designed by Naval Architecture and Marine Solutions.
